Easter Party Fun!

Listening for directions for the egg hunt!

                                                    Ready, set, go!
                                                 The hunt begins!

                                             It was a little tricky.

                                                      This is fun!
Checking out the name on the eggs.

Each child had to find 12 eggs with their name on them.

                                       Do I have 12 yet?

                                               No, keep hunting!

It was a great egg hunt and party!  Thanks to all our parent volunteers!

Week 27 & 28

Wow!  This school year is going by so fast.  Just 10 more weeks of Pre-K and your child will be headed to Kindergarten.  They have grown so quickly and are getting so smart!  Remember to go over your child's sight words daily!  Also, find the sight words in books at home and the sight word books I send home weekly.

Last week, we learned about different types of transportation.  We graphed vehicles by how many wheels they had and we sorted different types of transportation by whether they went on land, air or water.  We compared sets using the words more and less.  We read lots of books on transportation.  The students loved the books about trains the most. We learned the letter Zz, its sound, how to write it, and words that start with Zz.

This week, we are starting our farm unit.  We will talk about things that hatch from eggs and things that do not. We will be talking about bunny rabbits too and reading lots of books about them in prepartion for our Easter party on Thursday.  We will learn the letter Qq, its sound, how to write it and words that start with Qq.  We will continue working on counting, recognizing numbers, ordering numbers and writing numbers.

Reminder:  Send your child's eggs filled with candy or treats by tomorrow so we can have them ready for the egg hunt on Thursday afternoon.

Easter Party

Easter Party News

Dear Parents,
Easter is approaching fast!

We are asking that each child brings 12 plastic eggs filled with small pre-wrapped candy, stickers, mini erasers, toy treats, or fruit snacks. Once you have those eggs filled, please tape each egg closed so they will not come apart during our egg hunt. We will do our egg hunt on the grassy area by where we dismiss in the afternoon.
No peanuts or chocolate please.
We need the above items by Wednesday, March 27th, 2013.

Our Easter Party will be Thursday, March 28th, 2013 at 2:40 to 3:10 p.m.  Parents are welcome to attend!

 Thanks,
 Garner Pre-K

Milk Jugs needed for Easter baskets

We need each child to bring one empty, clean gallon milk jug to school as soon as possible or at the latest by next Monday, March 25th.  We will use these jugs to make Easter baskets at school.  Please wash out the jug and remove the label.  We will be making Bunny Easter baskets next week to use at our Easter egg hunt/party on Thursday, March 28th.

Week 26

Open House week was a short week, but it was very busy.  We got to go to the computer lab in the media center for the first time.  The kids were very excited to get to work on a computer.  Mrs. Morrison taught us how to use the computers the correct way.  We learned how to do a program called Pixie.  We played an alphabet game and got to put our ABC's in order.  It was tough, but we did it!  We had to find the letters and drag them to the right boxes.  We will go to the media center each Tuesday for computer class.
We worked on the letter Ww this week and finished up our frog unit and Texas unit.  Below are pictures of us working on our Texas books after we made cowboy/cowgirl hats to conclude our unit on Texas symbols.
Have a great Spring Break!
