Week 19 and Week 20 news

This week in Pre-K, we learned about the letter Bb, its sound, how to write it, and words that started with Bb.  We learned the nursery rhyme - Baa, Baa Black Sheep for our poem this week.  We learned about Polar Bears.  We made a tree map of what polar bears look like, where they live, what they like to do, and what they eat.  We made Polar Bears and painted them with puffy white paint made from shaving cream and glue.  We also learned about MLK and made a MLK book showing the things MLK believed in like peace, working together, and good citizenship.  We drew a picture of how we could be more like MLK.  In Math, we practiced counting 1-10 items and made number flashcards with stickers.  We also made a number wheel from a paper plate with beans.

Reminders:
Monday, Jan. 21 is a Holiday for MLK and we do not have school.

Tuesday, Jan. 22 is a staff development day for teachers.  GFAA will  not have school, but Pre-K and daycare will be open.  I will be at a meeting at Bonham all day, but Miss Carroll will be at school with an aide.  Don't forget that if you bring your child that day, you will need to bring a lunch box/drink.  The GFAA cafe will not be open for lunch.

Wednesday, Jan. 23 is Report card day.  I will send them home in the red folders.  Be sure to look it over and sign on the back under the 2nd 9 weeks.
Then return the card in the envelope ASAP.
Money for Primo cards is due today!  There will be a Silly String Party for all students who sold Primo cards on Friday.

Friday, Jan. 25 We will all wear blue for No Name Calling week.  It is also Morning with moms in the cafe.
