Don't forget to go to the GFAA Carnival at school this Saturday from 11-3 pm.
Last week, we learned all about farms and farm animals. We studied several farm animals and learned how to draw them. We made a farm book too! Our letter of the week was Jj and we reviewed counting one to one.
This week, we have been studying about insects and spiders. The kids have learned so much! Ask them to tell you the difference between an insect and a spider. We learned how many legs they have, how many body parts they have, and the names of the body parts. We learned a song about the insects body parts called, "Head, Thorax, and Abdomen". See if your child can sing it! Our letter this week was Yy and we learned about symmetry in Math.
We have started going to computer lab with Mrs. Morrison on Tuesday afternoons. She is teaching us computer skills and lessons on things we are studying in class. We have gone three times so far. The computers are Netbooks- small laptops with a mouse added to make it easier for the little ones.
Reminders: We will be going on a field trip to the farm April 23rd. I am needing parents to help out on the trip. If you are available to help, please let me know. Thanks for your support! Also, we need your child to bring a white T-shirt by Monday. I sent the letter below home earlier this week.
Dear Parents,
We will be going to Country Critters Farm on Tuesday, April 23rd for a field trip. We would like to make a “Field Trip T-shirt” for the children to wear that day. We need each child to bring one new, plain white t-shirt to school by Monday, April 15 th. It needs to fit comfortably and have no pockets or printing on it.
We are going to decorate the shirts with a farm scene. We are in need of any old crayons that you have to help make our shirts. (Especially: black, brown, green and blue crayons for the animals, grass, and sky) The pictures are made on sandpaper, which uses up the crayons very quickly. If you have any crayons that you can donate, we would greatly appreciate them.
Thank you,
Garner Pre-Kindergarten
