Parenting Tips:
Being an involved parent and encouraging your child to think about careers from an early age will help your child become successful in life. Have your child interview you about what you used to think about school and careers growing up. Here are some sample questions:
What were your favorite school subjects?
What did you like to do in your free time?
What career did you think about when you were young?
Did you follow the career path you dreamed of when you were young? Why or why not?
What obstacles got in your way of your career path?
What did your parents want you to do?
Who helped you make your career decision?
What did you learn in school to help you out the most?
What is your favorite thing about the work that you do now? What is the least?
